Before we talk about Voice = Power we are going to have to spend some on my first album Chicory Root

Back in 2016, I had just started grad school and I honestly hadn’t done much writing … or at least compositions that I had shared with anyone …

While studying composition, however, I fell in love with the process and ended up with a nice little portfolio of work, which I started performing at local clubs and festivals …

Soon I had enough for a record, which I recorded as part of my Master’s Thesis …

I am very proud of the recording and the work that eventually became Chicory Root … however, it was created as an academic project, and to me, lacks a certain ‘vision’ …

When I created Chicory Root … I wasn’t truly an artist yet, I was still finding my voice.

I believe Chicory Root is still a really good album … however, a few years later, when I began to sketch out Voice = Power … I sought to create something different … something that had a creative ‘vision’ … an ‘aesthetic’ … a ‘vibe’ …
